About this service
Cardiothoracic surgery is the surgical management of problems affecting your heart, major blood vessels in your chest, or lungs. It would include surgery such as coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve surgery, surgery of the aorta, or lung surgery.
Some surgeries can be performed using minimally invasive (smaller) incisions, using cameras (video-assisted thoracic surgery, VATS) or robotically.
