Development & Management Programme 

As an employee of Mater Private Network, you will have access to our in-house management development programme.  We have developed a programme covering topics to equip the new nurse manager with the knowledge and skills to perform as an effective manager. 

We also have a wide range of in-service courses to enhance existing skills such as Cardiac Arrhythmia, Pain Study and Early Warning Scores.   

In addition, we seek to support professional development by providing educational funding support and study leave for specialist programmes aligned to organisational goals. Examples of this include Infection Control, Nursing Management, and Tissue Viability. 

Strong leadership is essential to support our teams effectively deliver a high-quality, safe and compassionate patient care and we invest in and prioritise leadership development. 

Current leadership programmes include:

• Managing People Programme: this programme is accredited on the national framework of qualifications at Level 6 NQF via Technology University Dublin.
• Learning modules focus on Leadership style, Communication Skills, Performance Management, Conflict Management.

New Graduate Nurse Programme  

Here at Mater Private Network your Nursing qualification means so much more. Once you are accepted for our one-year New Graduate Nurse Programme, you will be given a permanent contract and placed on the 2nd point of the Staff Nurse Scale. You will gain valuable experience and will have opportunities to rotate through three of the hospital’s specialties. Throughout the year, you will be encouraged to keep learning and be supported every step of the way. Welcome to our nursing team!
