About our services
Hepatobiliary surgery, is a surgical sub-specialty focused on treating cancer and diseases of the liver, pancreas, bile duct and gallbladder. It involves the removal of primary and metastatic tumours in these organs. It also includes the treatment of benign diseases such as cysts, bile duct injuries, gallstones and portal hypertension. At Mater Private Network we treat a range of hepatobiliary conditions and as many of our surgical and medical teamwork across the Mater campus, we hold significant expertise in this sub-speciality.

Treatment
Prior to treatment, a number of investigative steps are taken. This may include laboratory, radiology, endoscopic and physiology tests or procedures. Fortunately, all of these can be undertaken on site.
Treatment may include lifestyle changes, medication and/or surgery. Minimally invasive procedures are used where possible when surgery is required, which provides the benefit of a quicker recovery, less pain, better healing and aesthetic and a shorter hospital stay.
Our team
Our hepatobiliary team has extensive expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and management of liver, gallbladder, pancreatic and biliary disease, including both benign and malignant conditions.
