Our facility is accessible by car and public transport. Local landmarks include Meadows & Byrne and Tesco Clarehall.
Parking is available behind the building - please only use the spaces marked Mater Private. There is on-street parking available - please check local signage, some areas are metered and some are free for up to 3 hours.
There is an entrance from the car park and the front of the building.
Driving to Mater Private Day Hospital Northern Cross by car from M1
Take exit towards N32/Malahide from M1 when driving southbound, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto R139. Continue straight and take the second exit at the next roundabout and stay on R139. Drive for 2.6km and turn left onto Malahide Rd/R107. Take the next left (approx 300m) to Mater Private Day Hospital Northern Cross. Parking is behind the building or on-street.
Driving to Mater Private Day Hospital Northern Cross by car from M50
When driving northbound, drive towards Exit 3. When approaching Exit 3, stay in the right lane towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto R139. Exit the roundabout on to R139. Continue straight and take the second exit at the next roundabout and stay on R139. Drive for 2.6km and turn left onto Malahide Rd/R107. Take the next left (approx 300m) to Mater Private Day Hospital Northern Cross. Parking is behind the building or on-street.
Parking is available on site behind the building, to the left of the car park entrance to the building. Please only park in one of the spaces marked with a Mater Private Network sign as clamping is in operation in the area.
Additional parking is available a short walk from the building (less than 5-minutes) in the nearby Hilton Hotel for €2 per hour, by agreement with the hotel. The Hilton Hotel car park is located at the back of the hotel. If the gates into the car park are closed, please press the buzzer on the wall.
How to get there
Travelling north on the Malahide Road/R139, pass through the junction with the R139.
Take the first turn left after this junction (approx 300m) onto Mayne River Avenue.
Take the 3rd left into the car park (the turn AFTER Mayne River Way).

M50 (14.km I Approx. 20 minutes)
Turn left onto Dorset Street Lower/N1. Take the 3rd right onto North Circular Road/R101. Continue straight for 1.8km. Turn left onto Seville Place/R101 at the fork in the road just before the Royal Canal.
At the next fork in the road, turn left onto East Wall Road/R131. Keep right to continue on M50, follow signs for Tolled Tunnel/Airport/M1. At junction 3, take the R139 exit to Malahide. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto R139. At the second roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on R139.
Just before the intersection, turn left toward Mayne River Avenue. Follow Mayne River Avenue by turning right, and turn right again. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the left-hand side.

Malahide Road/R107 (8.9km I Approx. 20 minutes)
Turn left onto Dorset Street Lower/N1. Take the third right after the bridge onto Clonliffe Road/R131. Continue to follow R131, then turn left onto Annesley Bridge Road.
At the fork in the road, continue straight onto Fairview/R105.
Turn left at the fork in the road onto Malahide Road/107. Continue straight for 4.7km, then at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Malahide Road/107. At the second roundabout, take the 2nd exit.
At the intersection (you will see the Hilton Hotel in front of you), turn left onto R139. Then take the first right toward Mayne River Avenue, follow Mayne River Avenue by turning right, and turn right again. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the left-hand side.
N1 and R139 (9.9km I Approx. 20 minutes)
Turn left onto Dorset Street Lower/N1. Continue to follow the road for 4.4km through Drumcondra towards Whitehall.
Keep right at the fork to continue on exit 2, follow signs for Belfast/Airport/M1/M50 and merge onto M50. At junction 3, take the R139 exit to Malahide. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto R139. At the second roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on R139.
Just before the intersection, turn left toward Mayne River Avenue. Follow Mayne River Avenue by turning right, and turn right again. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the left-hand side.
By Bus
Dublin bus 15 I Direction Clongriffin I Stop 4593 (Approx. 40 minutes)
Stop 299/Eden Quay is approximately 20-minute walk from the hospital. Walk to Dorset Street Lower, then turn right and continue to walk straight. At the intersection, turn left onto Frederick Street North. Continue to walk straight, through Parnell Square, onto O’Connell Street. Walk down O’Connell Street, and just before O’Connell Bridge turn left. Keep walking on the left side of the road until you reach stop 299.
Get off at Clare Hall Avenue, Malahide Road/Stop 4593. Walk back to the intersection (direction the bus came from), you will see the Hilton Hotel in front of you. Turn right and cross the road. Take the first left onto Mayne River Avenue, then take the 2nd left. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the left-hand side.
Dublin bus 27 I Direction Clare Hall I Stop 4593 (Approx. 40 minutes)
Stop 298/Eden Quay is approximately 20-minute walk from the hospital. Walk to Dorset Street Lower, then turn right and continue to walk straight. At the intersection, turn left onto Frederick Street North. Continue to walk straight, through Parnell Square, onto O’Connell Street. Walk down O’Connell Street, and just before O’Connell Bridge turn left. Keep walking on the left side of the road until you reach stop 298.

Dublin bus 43 I Direction Swords Business Park I Stop 1205 (Approx. 40 minutes)
Stop 1184/Talbot Street is approximately 20-minute walk from the hospital. Walk to Dorset Street Lower, then turn left and continue to walk straight. At the intersection, turn right onto Gardiner Street Upper. Continue to walk straight towards Gardiner Street Lower. At the intersection with Talbot Street (you should see AIB bank in front of you), turn left onto Talbot Street. Stop 1184 is on the right-hand side of the road.
Get off at Malahide Road/stop 1205. Follow the road (opposite the direction you came from on the bus) until you reach an intersection. You will be able to see the Hilton Hotel in front of you. Walk straight at the intersection, staying on the left-hand side of the road.
Take the first left after the intersection onto Mayne River Avenue, then take the 2nd left. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the left-hand side.
By Car
M50 (13.9km I Approx. 20 minutes)
Head towards Mayne River Avenue, then turn left. Turn left again toward R139. Turn right at the first cross street onto R139. Continue straight, following R139 until you drive up to a roundabout. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on R139. At the second roundabout, take the 1st exit onto M1 ramp to City Centre/Dublin Port.
Merge onto M1. Continue onto M50 and follow the road for 5.7km. Before Dublin Port, turn right, then turn right again onto East Wall Road/R131.
Drive through Ballybough toward Drumcondra, then turn left onto Drumcondra Road Lower/N1. Follow the road over the bridge, then take the 4th right onto Synnott Place/St Joseph Street. Turn left onto Leo Street. Leo Street turns left and becomes Eccles Place. Mater Private Network is on the right-hand side.

R139 and N1 (9.7km I Approx. 20 minutes)
Head towards Mayne River Avenue, then turn left. Turn left again toward R139. Turn right at the first cross street onto R139. Continue straight, following R139 until you drive up to a roundabout. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on R139. At the second roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the M1 ramp to City Centre/Dublin Port.
Merge onto M1. Continue onto M50. Take the N1 exit toward City Centre/Dublin Port. Continue onto N1. After 4.3km (you will cross 2 bridges), turn right onto Synnott Place/St Joseph Street. Turn left onto Leo Street. Leo Street turns left and becomes Eccles Place. Mater Private Network is on the right-hand side.
Malahide Road/R107 (9km I Approx. 23 minutes)
Head towards Mayne River Avenue, then turn left. Turn left again toward R139. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto R139. At the intersection (will see the Hilton Hotel on your left-hand side) turn right onto Malahide Road/R107. Continue straight until you drive up to a roundabout. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Malahide Road/R107.
Continue driving towards Marino. After 4.8km, turn right onto Marino Mart/R105. Continue straight onto Fairview Strand/R803 and toward Ballybough. Pass Ballybough and drive over a canal. Turn right onto North Circular Road/R101 at the intersection.
Continue to follow the road until you reach Dorset Street Lower. Drive straight and then turn left onto Synnott Row. Turn right onto St Joseph Street. Turn left onto Leo Street. Leo Street turns left and becomes Eccles Place. Mater Private Network is on the right-hand side.
By Bus
Dublin bus 15 I Direction toward Ballycullen Road I Approx. 1hr I Stop 301
Walk towards Mayne River Avenue, then turn right. Continue to walk towards Malahide Road, cross the road, turn right and continue to walk towards the intersection/the Hilton Hotel. Go straight at the intersection, you will see stop 4563 in front of you.
The bus will drop you off at Eden Quay, Marlborough Street/stop 302. The hospital is 20-minute walk away.
Walk to the end of O’Connell Street, then turn left onto Parnell Street. Take the first turn right onto Parnell Square West. Continue straight until you reach Dorset Street, then turn right. Continue to walk straight. Mater Private Network is on the left-hand side.
Dublin bus 27 I Direction Jobstown I Approx. 1hr I Stop 302
Walk towards Mayne River Avenue, then turn right. Continue to walk towards Malahide Road, cross the road, turn right and continue to walk towards the intersection/the Hilton Hotel. Go straight at the intersection, you will see stop 4563 in front of you.
The bus will drop you off at Eden Quay, Marlborough Street/stop 302. The hospital is 20-minute walk away.

Walk towards Mayne River Avenue, then turn right. Continue to walk towards Malahide Road, cross the road, turn right and continue to walk towards the intersection/the Hilton Hotel. Go straight at the intersection, you will see stop 4563 in front of you.
The bus will drop you off at Talbot Street/stop 1184, it’s the last stop. The hospital is 20-minute walk away.
When you get off the bus, walk towards Gardiner Street Lower. Cross the street, and head towards Gardiner Street Upper. Follow the road until you reach Dorset Street Lower, then cross the road and turn left. Continue to follow the road. Mater Private Network is on the right-hand side.

There is no on-site café at our Day Hospital in Northern Cross but an Insomnia cafe is based in Meadows & Byrnes, nearby and there are several eating options in Clarehall Shopping Centre, five minute away.
