About
Fergal Cummins gained his primary medical degree from the University College Cork (National University of Ireland). He is a consultant in Emergency Medicine and Retrieval Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Physicians in Ireland. In addition, he holds a Masters degree in Disaster Medicine from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) and from the Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale 'Amedeo Avogadro' (Italy).
Education & Experience
He has worked as a medical consultant in Emergency Medicine and Retrieval Medicine in Europe, Australasia and the Middle East. He has worked in the public and private organisations in Ireland and internationally. In addition, he has worked clinically as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He held the position of medical director for AMI, a European medical retrieval organization. He has held academic positions at the Universities of Sydney, Australia, the Charles Sturt University, Australia and the University of Limerick, Ireland.
Special Interests
As Chief Medical Advisor for National Ambulance in the United Arab Emirates he was responsible for the development and management of all clinical services (trauma, medical and disaster) for National Ambulance LLC in the United Arab Emirates. This included all pre-hospital trauma services.
