Education & Experience
Dr. Eoghan Ferrie is a Consultant Emergency Physician at Mater Private Network in Dublin.
Dr. Ferrie graduated from Queens’s University, Belfast in 2000 and completed higher specialty training in Emergency Medicine in 2009 through the Northern Ireland Deanery. He spent a year out-of-programme for additional higher specialist training in Acute Medicine. He is Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (UK) and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh).
Following completion of specialist training, he spent two years working in Emergency Medicine at Flinders Medical Centre, South Australia, during which time he attained Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. He joined Mater Private Network in May 2024.
Special Interests
Dr. Ferrie has a special interest in Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Emergency Care. He led the introduction and development of an Acute Medicine service in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast in 2011. He subsequently led the development of a Clinical Assessment Unit in 2014, which facilitates the ambulatory management of a wide range of Urgent and Emergency patients. In 2020 he led the development of the first Urgent Care Centre in Northern Ireland at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.
