Education & Experience
Dr. Daniele Calzaferri is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon in the Mater Private Network in Cork. He graduated with honours from Università degli Studi di Brescia, Italy in 2010. He pursued cardiac surgical training in Verona, Italy, where he gained experience in all aspects of cardiac surgery including adult, congenital and transplantation surgery, and intensive care management. He successfully attained in his certificate in specialist training in 2016. Since moving to Ireland in 2016 he has worked as a senior cardiothoracic registrar in both Blackrock Health and St James’s Hospital in Dublin. He joined Mater Private Network in Cork in 2025.
Special Interests
Dr. Calzaferri’s special interests include coronary artery bypass surgery, valvular heart disease, and great vessel disease.
Clinical Research & Professional Memberships
Dr. Calzaferri has research interests in coronary artery bypass surgery and mitral valve surgery. He was awarded his MD from Università degli Studi di Brescia for his work regarding minimally invasive mitral surgery.
