About

Education & Experience 

Ms. Stacey Darwish is a Consultant Spine Surgeon based in the National Spine Injuries Unit, Mater Misericordiae University hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital and Mater Private Network in Dublin. She completed her training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in Northern Ireland before embarking on fellowships in both paediatric & adult deformity (Scottish National Deformity Service, Edinburgh) and complex adult spine surgery (National Spine Injuries Unit, Dublin), focusing on evolving technologies including navigation and robotics. Most recently she was integral in the commencement of mixed reality navigation in Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.  She joined Mater Private Network in Dublin as a consultant in November 2024.

 

Special Interests 

Ms. Darwish has a specific interest in evolving technologies including navigation, robotic spine surgery and the use of mixed reality navigation, having done visitations to several centres in the USA and Europe on these topics. 

 

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships 

Ms. Darwish has been actively involved in research throughout her career and is extensively published in spinal surgery in many peer-reviewed journals as well as contributing to textbooks. She presents work regularly in both national and international scientific meetings and has been an invited speaker on several areas of spine surgery, in particular on evolving technologies internationally. She reviews for several orthopaedic and spinal journals. 

Ms. Darwish is actively involved with the European Spine Society as a member of the Education committee, and tutors in the post-graduate CHM in Trauma & Orthopaedics degree through the University of Edinburgh. 

She is the Irish representative for the European Spine Registry through Eurospine.
