About
Education & Experience
Mr. Michael Leonard is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Mater Private Hospital, Tallaght University Hospital and Naas General Hospital. He is also a senior lecturer in trauma and orthopaedics at Trinity College Dublin.
Mr. Leonard graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2002. He was awarded a master’s degree in surgery from Trinity College in 2007. He then completed the higher surgical training scheme in trauma and orthopaedic surgery (Royal College of Surgeons) and was awarded the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in 2011.
Clinical Research & Professional Memberships
Mr. Leonard completed advanced sub-specialty fellowship training in soft tissue arthroscopic shoulder and knee reconstruction, joint replacement and trauma in Europe and Australia from 2012-2013. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on orthopaedic surgery and has presented his work at multiple international meetings.
