Special Interests  

In his career to date, Mr. Kervick has performed more than 25,000 cataract operations.  For more than 20 years, this has been almost exclusively small incision (phacoemulsification) cataract surgery under topical anaesthesia, i.e. eye drops only. Mr. Kervick also performs refractive lens exchange (RLE or clear lens extraction) for those patients deemed unsuitable for cataract surgery using eye drops, either by reason of age or degree of refractive error but who still wish to eliminate the use of glasses on a permanent basis. Cataract surgery using multifocal premium lenses, offers patients the opportunity to eliminate the use of glasses completely and for good, regardless of the presence of astigmatism, long-sightedness or short-sightedness. Mr. Kervick will happily discuss this option, along with the various others during your initial consultation. In addition to cataract surgery, Mr. Kervick also has a special interest in anterior segment disease, including dry eye, as well as general ophthalmology.
