Education & Experience
Mr. Eamonn O’Connell is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Mater Private Network, Cork.
Mr. O’Connell graduated from University College Dublin and holds a fellowship in Cataract and Refractive Surgery from the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. He qualified from the Irish College of Ophthalmology Ophthalmic Surgery Specialist Training Programme in 2011, and subsequently undertook a further 2 years of subspecialist training in Vitreoretinal Surgery in centres of excellence in the United Kingdom (Queens Medical Centre Nottingham, and Bristol Eye Hospital). In 2014 Mr. O’Connell returned to Ireland to work as a consultant in Cork University Hospital and the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital. He joined Mater Private Network in Cork in September 2024.
