Education & Experience

Dr. Khopkar obtained his primary medical degree (1980) and Master in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (1983) from India before joining the NHS in 1995. He qualified for the membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) London in 2004 and subsequently was awarded a fellowship of the RCOG in 2016. He also holds a European diploma in gynaecological endoscopic surgery from Clermont-Ferrand, France.  

Dr.Khopkar has practiced as a consultant gynaecologist for over 37 years, the past 25 of these years have been in the UK and Ireland.

Special Interests

Apart from general gynaecology, Dr. Khopkar has an interest in pelvic floor reconstructive surgery and minimal access surgery which includes laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures for managing most gynaecological conditions.  

He has also adapted modern technology into the operating theatre to improve the surgeon’s ergonomics and ease of operating.
