About
Education & Experience
Dr. Saber Hassan graduated from Garyounis University in Libya in 2005. He moved to Ireland in 2008, where he completed two years of Basic Skills Training scheme in general medicine, followed by general medicine and cardiology training in Our Lady’s Hospital, Drogheda. He then completed cardiology training in the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, including two years of interventional cardiology. He was awarded a fellowship in accordance with the European Association of Cardiovascular Intervention Society (EAPCI). Dr. Hassan then moved to Vancouver, and completed one year of an advanced fellowship in interventional cardiology at Vancouver General Hospital attached to University of British Columbia. There, he focused on complex coronary interventions including chronic total occlusions (CTO) and structural heart disease including TAVI, PFO/ASD closure and LAA closure, and also managing patients with spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD).
Clinical Research & Professional Memberships
Dr. Hassan was involved as sub-investigator in international multi-centre clinical trials at The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital including COMPASS and RELAX-2 trials. He has published a SCAD study in JACC Intervention: “Natural History with Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection With Spontaneous Angiographic Healing”.
