About

Education & Experience 

Dr. Paul Hill is a Consultant Cardiologist at Mater Private Network, Cork. 

A Cork native, he graduated from the University of Exeter Medical School and completed medical rotations in Cork. He has been awarded medical memberships in both Ireland and the United Kingdom in 2015, followed by a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He completed general cardiology training in South London. He then pursued advanced sub-specialty training in Coronary Intervention at St Thomas’, Frimley Park, and St George’s Hospitals, followed by a Complex Coronary Intervention Fellowship at Mater Private Network in Dublin. In addition to this he has carried out a quality improvement fellowship with the established Vanguard programme at Guy's and St Thomas’ Hospital. He joined Mater Private Network in Cork in 2024.

Special Interests 

Dr. Hill has extensive expertise in managing a wide spectrum of cardiac conditions, with a particular focus on coronary artery disease. He specializes in advanced percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) techniques, utilizing intra-coronary imaging and physiology to optimize outcomes. His subspecialty includes the treatment of chronic total occlusions (CTOs), refined through post-CCT experience at St George’s Hospital, London, and the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin.

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships 

Dr. Hill has contributed extensively to the field of interventional cardiology through numerous publications and involvement in clinical trials. His primary passion lies in Quality Improvement, where he has played a pivotal role in establishing inter-hospital transfer networks and developing IT infrastructure across South London hospitals, enhancing the efficiency and coordination of cardiac care.

In his free time, Dr. Hill enjoys playing basketball, running, and cycling, and is an avid Munster rugby fan. Above all, he values spending quality time with his wife, two children, and their dog.
