Education & Experience
Dr. Monica Georgescu is a Consultant Neurologist at Mater Private Network in Dublin.
Dr. Georgescu graduated from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania in 2005 and completed her residency training in neurology in Bucharest. She was certified as a specialist in neurology and worked in an outpatient clinic for five years. She has an interest in psychology and psychoanalysis, and she completed a master’s degree in Analytical Psychology. Dr. Georgescu trained in psychoanalysis in Bucharest and at the CG Jung Institute of San Francisco and was certified as a psychoanalyst by the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). She had a private practice as a psychoanalyst in San Francisco for several years.
After moving to Ireland, Dr. Georgescu worked at the Beaumont Hospital, before joining the Mater Private Network as a consultant neurologist.
Special Interests
Dr. Georgescu enjoys treating a wide variety of neurological conditions including headaches, seizure disorders, movement disorders and psychological aspects of neurologic conditions.
Clinical Research & Professional Memberships
Dr. Georgescu is a member of the German Society for neurology (DGN), and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP).
