Education & Experience 

Dr. Deirdre Brady is a Consultant Microbiologist at Mater Private Network, Dublin.

Dr. Brady graduated in Medicine from the University of Dublin, Trinity College in 2005. After a period of basic specialist training she entered Higher Specialist Training in Clinical Microbiology, which she completed in 2015. She has been working as a consultant in Ireland since then, with permanent appointments at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and National Orthopaedic Hospital, Cappagh since 2016. She joined Mater Private Network in Dublin in May 2025.

Special Interests 

Dr. Brady's special interests include:

• Healthcare associated infection
• Infection associated with medical and prosthetic devices
• Clostridioides difficile infection
• Infection Prevention and Control including management of hospital outbreaks

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships 

Dr. Brady is a fellow of the Faculty of Pathology in the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (RCPI), a trainer on the Higher Specialist Training program in Clinical Microbiology with the RCPI and has presented and published in the areas of clinical microbiology and infection prevention and control. She is a member of the Irish Society of Clinical Microbiologists (ISCM) where she has been on the executive committee since 2019, the Healthcare Infection Society (HIS, UK) and the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).
