Education & Experience
Dr. Carthage Moran graduated from University College Cork with an honours degree in 2009. After completing specialist training in Ireland in 2018, he completed two fellowships in interventional endoscopy. He was awarded the inaugural Post CSCST Interventional Endoscopy Fellowship with the RCPI at Beaumont Hospital on Dublin, and then completed a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship in Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Moran is an accredited trainer of postgraduate medical trainees with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and a Clinical Senior Lecturer with University College Cork.
He has worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in the Mercy University Hospital in Cork since 2020. He established his private practice at Mater Private Network Cork in September 2024.
Special Interests
Dr. Moran has experience in all areas of gastroenterology, with special interests in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. He is a registered BowelScreen endoscopist. He is happy to accept referrals in gastroenterology and direct access endoscopy.
