Mater Private Network hosts leading cardiologists at annual Heart Summit to shape the future of cardiac care
Mater Private Network hosts its annual Dublin Heart Summit today at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), welcoming over 700 cardiologists, GPs and other healthcare professionals to discuss the latest developments in patient care.
Now in its second year, the Dublin Heart Summit is organised by Mater Private Network and the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) Dublin and supported by RCSI and the Irish Cardiac Society. It aims to foster collaboration and inspire fresh approaches to improving patient outcomes in cardiovascular medicine.
This year’s programme will include expert-led discussions on emerging treatments and innovative technologies, evolving models of care, and spotlights Ireland’s potential to strengthen its position as a global leader in heart health.

Highlights include a keynote address from Professor Valentin Fuster of Mount Sinai, USA, and the National Centre for Cardiovascular Investigation, Spain, who will speak on the changing landscape of health and disease, with a focus on technology and education.
Other sessions will feature leading international and national experts to explore a wide range of topics, including recent developments in the treatment of heart failure, coronary artery disease, cardio-oncology, the link between menopause and heart health, and the role of exercise as a form of cardiovascular medicine.
Speaking about the importance of the Dublin Heart Summit, Prof. Robert Byrne, Director of Cardiology at Mater Private Network and Professor of Cardiovascular research at RCSI, said: "Our vision for the Heart Summit is to create a platform for leading experts from Ireland and abroad to come together, share expertise, and help shape the future of cardiovascular care. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death and disability among Irish adults, and it's essential that we continue to advance our approaches to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
“As medical and surgical treatments continue to evolve, we have a responsibility to embrace clinical research as part of routine care and to ensure that the latest innovations are made available to our patients in a timely manner. In doing so, we not only enhance patient outcomes here in Ireland, but also contribute to the global advancement of cardiovascular medicine."
With more than 700 healthcare professionals expected to attend both virtually and in person, Mater Private Network is dedicated to advancing excellence and innovation in cardiac care in Ireland by hosting educational sessions like the Dublin Heart Summit.
