Mater Private Network enhances laboratory diagnostics with four new innovative analysers
Our laboratories at Mater Private Network in Dublin and Cork have introduced four innovative analysers, marking the culmination of a €725,000 investment network wide.
With the introduction of two new Roche Cobas® Pure biochemistry analysers in our Cork laboratory, our team now has expanded capacity to analyse samples for kidney, liver, and cardiac function as well as tumour markers and many other tests. In addition to these analysers, last year we launched 24/7 blood transfusion and on call services.

Our Dublin hospital is the first in Ireland to introduce two new Roche Cobas® Pro analysers for clinical chemistry and immunochemistry testing. These upgraded analysers will facilitate faster processing times and improve sample analysis capacity.
The implementation of all new equipment and features was supported by our multidisciplinary laboratory teams with interdepartmental collaboration across Mater Private Network.
Mary Kennedy, Laboratory Manager at Mater Private Network Cork, said: “I commend our laboratory colleagues for their support and focus this last year. There has been much positive change within the service, and the dedication of our expert team was crucial for implementing new technologies and services for the benefit of our patients.”
Paul Kennedy, laboratory manager at Mater Private Network Dublin, said: “By introducing these new analysers, we are significantly upgrading our ability to meet the testing needs of our clinicians, which will have a direct impact on patient care. The new platform has allowed our laboratory to expand the repertoire of tests we can offer ensuring clinicians have faster access to results to the benefit of all our patients. It is a huge achievement from our entire team who have worked tirelessly to improve our service over the last 18 months.”
