Notification of Dublin City Council Road Maintenance on Eccles Street
We wish to inform patients of essential road maintenance works being conducted by Dublin City Council on Eccles Street, between the Berkeley Road Junction and the N1 Junction. These works are scheduled to take place from Monday, 20th January until 27th January, with preparatory work commencing today, Friday, 17th January.
During the roadworks period, pedestrian access along Eccles Street will remain available, although pedestrian barriers will be erected along the footpaths. Vehicular access to Eccles Street will be restricted and on-street parking is unavailable throughout the duration of the works. Access will be maintained to the Mater Misericordiae public hospital underground carpark and National Ambulance Service with a stop-and-go system put in place at all times. Eccles Street will have one lane of one-way traffic during this period. Entry to Eccles Street will only be available from the Dorset Street traffic lights, and exit will be via Berkeley Street.
A stop-and-go system will also be implemented tying into the Berkeley Road and N1 junctions. Diversions will be in place around area, with road marshals assisting to direct traffic. Each evening from 7:30 pm until 6:00 am the following morning, Eccles Street will be completely closed to traffic.
Please be assured that Mater Private Network’s Eccles Street hospital will continue to operate as normal, with all services remaining unaffected by the roadworks. Should you have any concerns regarding access to the hospital during this period, please contact the specific service you are visiting for assistance or reach out to Roadstone Ltd, the contractor undertaking these works on behalf of Dublin City Council, at 086 811 8315.
Dates for these works are subject to change in extenuating circumstances. We will update with any additional information in due course.
