Education and experience

Dr. Darren Cowzer is a Medical Oncologist at Mater Private Network in Dublin. 

Dr. Cowzer is a consultant medical oncologist who specialises in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal cancers. He received his undergraduate science degree and postgraduate medical degree from University College Dublin, where he was awarded scholarships to study at Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University in the United States. 

He completed his basic specialty training in internal medicine and higher specialty training in medical oncology with the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, before completing subspecialty training in gastrointestinal oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre (MSKCC) in New York. He also graduated with a Master of Science in Precision Cancer Medicine and Genomics from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. 

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships

Dr. Cowzer‘s research at MSKCC has led to multiple publications along with awards from the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He is the principal investigator on multiple active clinical trials. He is currently a co-chair of the gastrointestinal sub-group at Cancer Trials Ireland.
