About
Education & Experience
Ms. Niamh Collins MB, BCh, BAO, MMedEd, FEBO, PhD, FRCSI(Ophthalmology), is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon whose clinical areas of expertise include cataract surgery, glaucoma and general ophthalmology.
Ms. Collins graduated from Trinity College Dublin Medical School in 2004. She completed residency and specialist registrar training in 2016 through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI), a fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmologists (FEBO) and a member of the Irish College of Ophthalmology (ICO). She completed an advanced surgical fellowship in Melbourne, specialising in glaucoma and complex cataract surgery.
She was awarded a PhD from Trinity College Dublin for research on fixational eye movements. She has a keen interest in training and leadership in ophthalmology and was awarded a Masters in Medical Education from Queen's University Belfast. Her research interests include improving clinical outcomes and service provision for patients with glaucoma.
